The How To Guide
ClayCrits aims to provide multiple ways to showcase artist, their work, and opportunities within the clay world. Below is a list of different ways ClayCrits can feature artists and their work, options for Takeovers or ways opportunities can be listed. If there is an idea that we have yet to list on how to showcase works or artists, we would love to hear from you on the matter so please reach out if you had an idea in mind. Please note, these opportunities are all free - we don't ask for money to be featured on our platform.
1. The Daily Feature
This is the every day feature of the page, either as a specific theme such as Mugshot Monday, Figure Friday, and other online trends. or a non-themed future. There is no one way to be featured this way.
Ways to become a daily feature:
(1) We reach out to artists frequently through our DMs.
(2) Using the hashtag #claycrits and or @claycrits.
(3) Send us a in DM expressing interest.
Once we have the necessary information (brief bio and statement) and images, we will compile the daily feature. We use the artists voice as much as possible to ensure their vision of the work is represented.
2. Single show/group show feature
If you have a solo show or are in a group show or sale, ClayCrits can do multiple day features of the works and artists in the event to showcase it all to a larger audience.
3. Artist Takeover
If an artist/group of artists are interested in doing a takeover that is for individual promotion, for a theme, a time of the year, to talk about a contemporary or historical events, movements, research based, their inspiration, or something in-between, we will work with them for duration of the take over.
4. Events and Opportunities
We typically post opportunities through out stories, which can be accessed in our story highlights by deadline month. Each post has brief information, such as jurors, costs, residency perks, and more. We find these opportunities naturally and through seeking them out. If you would like to share an opportunity with us, send us a DM!
To suggest events to share, send us a DM with a link to the opportunity. We cannot guarantee all suggestions will be posted, but we will do our best to highlight a wide range of practices to maintain as inclusive as possible.
To collaborate with ClayCrits in a way that has or hasn't been said, please send us a DM with a brief description of your proposal. We are open to working with other pages with a similar goal.
